Wonderful showbiz image of Dory Dorika. Born Dorotea Massa, to a Russian mother and an Italian Father, in Odessa, in 1913 (in what was then the Russian Empire and now, the Ukraine).
Signorina Dorika moved with her family to Milan, Italy, while she was still an infant. In Italy, she began performing on the stage as a child, and was a very popular performer for many years. She began making films in the 1950s, and continued to work in film into the mid 1970s. We found no record of her death. Great image of the classic, "Hit it!" pose when one performer halts, mid-routine, and invites another, or others, to take over. Lots of fun.
Some surface silvering (which we always like in older images, personally), with a fair amount of discoloration and paste/album remnants on the reverse side.
