This card is just so delightful :) The young lady is attired in a wonderful dress with her hair done up in that classic Belle Epoque fashion, and with flowers at the temples, and her young man with his magnificent mustaches. When we first got a hold of this card, we thought, 'Wow, early roller skate image! This is really something! Then we did a bit of research, and discovered that roller skates, in one form or another (very much including "in-lines" by the way), have been around for a very long time. Of course we might have known better the history of the damn things, had the getting up in roller skates, for Red, ever been anything more than a very expedient method of sitting down quickly! :) In any case, even if it lacks any real historical importance, this is a charming, charming card.
On the reverse side, a young lady named Marie, composed quite a lengthy message to her parents. Once again, we regret we are not fluent in French. Trying to piece together text in a language you know little of is hard enough when it's typewritten, but cursive script adds a couple of degrees of challenge onto that, and we seldom have the patience for it. If you do, let us know what she had to say! Dated 1911, and in very nice condition.
Please examine our high res scans for detail.

Postage is for first class shipping in a secure photo mailer, and we happily combine shipping on all paper goods. If you purchase two cards, we will refund the postage on the second card, and when you purchase three or more cards from us at the same time, your shipping will be entirely free, except for international orders which, because of sudden increases in international shipping rates will still be charged one card's shipping fees on orders of three or more.
