Well, this one will be our desktop image for awhile, we think. Two young ladies posing in front of a cart selling dolls, fans, and little parasols. The seller, we think, is probably the gentleman in the straw bowler in the background. There is also a little boy behind the cart.
THIS IS NOT A POSTCARD. It is a small photographic print (3 and 1/2 by 4 and 1/2 inches) of another print (probably cardboard backed) whose backing, as we can see from this print, had sustained a fair amount of damage to its corners. Though this print is quite old, in fact, we would guess, within a decade or so of the original, it is still a photograph of a photograph. The photo print paper is just thin print paper, which we didn't realize when buying it for the shop, so we are going to sell it for a bit less than our overall costs.
Of course, we don't really like taking a loss on an item, but honestly, we're not in the least bit sorry. This is such a magnificent time machine of an image. Our hearts melted as soon as we saw it, and we had to share it with you. Hope you love it as much as we do.
Please examine our high res scans for detail.
Postage is for first class shipping in a secure photo mailer, and we happily combine shipping on all paper goods. If you purchase two cards, we will refund the postage on the second card, and when you purchase three or more cards from us at the same time, your shipping will be entirely free, except for international orders which, because of sudden increases in international shipping rates will still be charged one card's shipping fees on orders of three or more.

where we post biographical and historical tidbits, images of cards and photographs for sale, some already sold but remembered fondly, related images of historical interest and sometimes even images of items that have not yet arrived in the shop, but that are expected to arrive soon, as well as coupon codes, links to other related sites, and more!
