Fantastic card! Whether it was chocolate, biscuits (cookies to us :) or perfume, some of the loveliest art to find its way onto the postcard during the Belle Epoque was of the promotional variety. Jules Cherét, Alfons Mucha and countless others of that place and time earned their bread primarily as commercial artists. After all, the very idea of Art Nouveau, what was also known in Germany as Jugendstil, was at least in part to place art on a practical level, in industrial design, architecture, and certainly advertising, to make it an uplifting force in the human environment for all humans, perhaps in direct response to what was felt dehumanizing in post industrial revolution society. No info on this artist, sorry, but we'll keep our eyes open.
Very nice condition!
