Great vaudeville image! Acrobatic duo, the Leo Barnells, as Pierrot and his love, Pierrette, or Colombine, circa 1905/10. Very nice condition. We admit to a weakness for the Pierrot image generally, but this one now, is really unique! On the card's obverse, in the ubiquitous (and oh-so-romantic) violet ink of the era, the card's sender writes that the card is a souvenir of the Mardi Gras ball and of these acrobats who performed there. Vintage postcards are miniature time machines that take us places, not just through image, but the words written on them...the violet ink...wonderful :)
