Delightful lithograph card, printed in Germany for distribution in the USA. Divided back was adopted by U.S. in 1907, which dates the card to somewhere between 1907 and 1916 when we joined the war and interrupted business with German companies. We date the card circa 1907 based mostly upon the woman's costume, which is so very Gilded Age.
Beautiful women, or darling children, popping out of gigantic eggs were very popular Easter greeting images and this one is beyond wonderful. In the text on the obverse we read that "Sister and Mama" wish Charlotte Lawson "a very happy Easter at Ocean Park." Our third listing image is of a 1912 photograph of Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica, California, what was probably Charlotte's destination. In the background we can see the amusement park's roller coaster, called a "Scenic Railway." This photo is not ours, we just lifted it off the web for your pleasure (Thank you Los Angeles Water and Power Associates!), so it's not being offered for sale with this listing.
Please examine our high res scans for detail.
