Appearing in our "Featured Glamor Model" section, this gorgeous card was lovingly hand-decorated with tiny glass or crystal "gems," (our scan makes them look like sequins, but they're not) glitter and gold lace! Great condition on this wonderfully rare item. In the early days of postcard collecting, one of those favorite "rainy day" activities was the decoration of what we call today "Glamor" cards. This is one of the nicest we've seen. We love this model. Though in their day these gals were often popular entertainers, stars of silent film or important figures in the arts community that thrived along the Left Bank in Paris, it's often difficult to trace any personal histories, even names. Often we get lucky enough to hear from a distant relative, history buff or fellow postcard collector who knows something about a particular model and shares it with us. If you know anything about this lovely lady, we'd love to hear from you!
A superb example of this type of postcard, and with the wonderful embellishments, an evocative artifact of the era.
