Referencing biblical scripture, this is an image that is almost certainly one in a series of three cards. Foi, Esperance, and charité, or Faith, Hope, and Charity. "And now abideth Faith, Hope, Charitie, these three," is the pertinent quote from the book of Corinthians (this translation taken from the King James bible). We have run across hundreds of cards from these very popular series of images, produced by many different publishers. Usually the model was a young woman, holding onto a cross (for foi, or faith), a ship's anchor (for esperance, or hope), or a heart (for charité, or charity). That this was a very popular series of images, makes cards from it a popular item for "set" collectors, but we thought as a "stand alone," this was a particularly lovely one.
A very nice card in very nice, posted condition. Please examine our high res scans for detail.
Postage is for first class shipping in a secure photo mailer, and we happily combine shipping on all paper goods. If you purchase two cards, we will refund the postage on the second card, and when you purchase three or more cards from us at the same time, your shipping will be entirely free, except for international orders which, because of sudden increases in international shipping rates will still be charged one card's shipping fees on orders of three or more.
