Lovely, romantic, Belle Epoque card with goddesses garbed in post-classical robes and tiny immortal tots as well, all busy with the creation of music! Love it. This is one of seven such cards we recently acquired for the shop, out of a series of ten, or more.
This card was printed right around 1903, but posted in 1905 from Barbazan, a tiny village of less than 500 souls, to Carcassonne, a beautiful walled fortress of a city in the Occitanie region of France, a city famous, in part, for its involvement in the Albigensian Crusades in the 13th century (clearly another story, but a fascinating one!).
