So charming! Beautiful image of Belle Epoque artiste Marthe Derminy taken by Walery, the Parisian theatrical portraitist who came to Paris from London in 1900, and had inherited both his professional pseudonym, Walery, and the title of Count Ostorog, from his Lithuanian father, Walery the elder, who had been a very successful photographer as well.
Image circa 1905. We have not been able to find any biographical info on Mlle. Derminy yet, still looking, but it does appear that later in her life, she made appearances in a number of French musical romance films in the 30s and 40s, though it is possible that this was another Marthe Derminy.
