Mystery card :) This image, such fun, of a sprite with magical dragons embroidered on her gown, is probably of the Fairy Godmother in the opera "Cendrillon," so where is the mystery? Well, in 1899, there was the premiere of Jules Massenet's Cendrillon at the Opera Comique, and then in 1904 was the premiere of Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon at her Paris Salon. When we research Massenet's opera, we get a complete cast list, with no one named Sylva that we can find, nor are there any characters called Sylva, so we are going with the Viardot production. Mme. Viardot, friend, and perhaps lover, of Ivan Turgenev, was 83 years old when this chamber comic opera premiered. Wonderful costume! Card is in very nice, unposted condition.
Please examine our high res scans for detail.

Postage is for first class shipping in a secure photo mailer, and we happily combine shipping on all paper goods. If you purchase two cards, we will refund the postage on the second card, and when you purchase three or more cards from us at the same time, your shipping will be entirely free, except for international orders which, because of sudden increases in international shipping rates will still be charged one card's shipping fees on orders of three or more.
