Posted in 1907, but published much nearer the year 1900, this is one in a very charming series of images by Henri Manuel of Paris. The children are costumed in what looks like the fashion of the first French empire, so between 1790 and 1830.
The young gallant(possibly portrayed by a second little girl) is carrying the lady's hat box, and himself, sports une coiffe militaire :) Wonderful detail on this one, and the resolution is really fine. Nice posted condition.
Please examine our high res scans for detail.
