It has been very hard finding out anything about the life of Mlle Fedia de Ferard. We've seen it written that she was an opera singer, and that she was born Jenny Rosenbaum, but haven't found any source material to back this up. Shame. What a doll! And we'd love to hear her story. A number of famous Belle Epoque performers were Jewish immigrants to Paris, fleeing one pogrom or another, arriving penniless, finding work in garment factories, singing nights in cafes, scratching for a living and finally hitting it big. Terribly exciting stuff. Read about Anna Held, for example.
Anyway, we often pick up images of Fedia when we come across nice ones. Her huge upswept hair, sweet smile, dazzling eyes, and gorgeous plumed chapeaus are difficult to resist.

A lovely card. Some minor wear to edges and corners. Please examine our high res scans for details.
